Introduction to K!nd4SUS
The K!nd4SUS Cybersecurity Team is the Italian CTF player team of the University of Milan (UniMi), made up of cybersecurity enthusiasts and those passionate about everything related to computer science.
The origin of K!nd4SUS dates back to 2021 when a small group of people, following the CyberChallenge.IT project, decided to continue with activities in the field. Over the years the team has grown and transformed, becoming, in 2024, a Student Group linked to UniMI. The activities proposed by the group now cover various areas, including:
- supporting the CTF community through participation in both national and international competitions;
- spreading computer culture through participation in meetings, conferences, workshops;
- supporting the CyberChallenge.IT project through afternoon and evening training sessions, with the aim of learning and deepening ethical hacking techniques;
- organizing events, seminars, conferences both in-person and online aimed at promoting Computer Security.
Who We Are
K1nd4SUS is a Student Group made up of students from the University of Milan.
Following the CyberChallenge.IT project, an activity created to spread, train and raise awareness on topics regarding Computer Security, some students decided to continue in this field, both in the educational and practical sphere, and formed a group dedicated to competitions in the subject. We believe the time has now come to become an official Group, both to promote our activities and to spread the culture and spirit that characterize these initiatives.
K1nd4SUS is non-partisan, secular, inclusive and non-profit. This group makes decisions collectively, in full respect of democratic values and in full knowledge and observance of the University’s Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
We believe in the principles that have animated the computer community since the early days: the need to understand and improve existing systems and to promote the free sharing of information, ideas and technologies. We also want to ensure that the ethical and aesthetic potential of software is recognized, not only in its creation but also in its understanding.
Objectives
The group sets the following objectives:
- Formalize the existence of a CTF community for the University of Milan;
- Spread computer culture, emphasizing the different Cybersecurity domains;
- Facilitate access to learning topics related to computer security, in theoretical and applied form;
- Stay up to date with news and the latest developments in the sector (e.g. new vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques for computer systems).
Activities and Field of Interest
The group deals with deepening all aspects related to Computer Science and Computer Security, as well as disseminating these topics to all students of the university.
Our activities are varied, and include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Support for the CyberChallenge.IT project, including afternoon and evening training sessions together, with the aim of learning and deepening ethical hacking techniques;
- Participation in competitions, such as international CTFs, also competing against other Italian and non-Italian teams;
- Organization of in-person and online events aimed at promoting Computer Security.

Organizational Structure
Within the group, the following roles are identified:
- President, who coordinates and presides over all group activities and appoints the Treasurer. The presidential term lasts one year.
- Vice Presidents, who handle the concrete and daily management of activities;
- Treasurer, namely a Vice President who also handles the management of the Group's financial and material resources. The Treasurer has veto power over decisions made by the Assembly regarding the Group's finances, only in cases where the implementation of those decisions would result in an unsustainable or incorrect management of available resources;

The Assembly meets in ordinary meetings on a monthly basis and in extraordinary meetings as needed.
Its functions are as follows:

- Participate on behalf of the Student Group in funding calls and reimbursement calls issued by the University each Academic Year;
- Establish the medium and long-term objectives of the Group, as well as the initiatives it intends to participate in;
- Discuss and approve by majority vote any changes to the Statute or Regulations. Changes to the Statute require a plenary session and do not come into effect until the time of its renewal, while changes to the Regulations can be made during any meeting;
- Discuss proposals from members who do not hold official positions, whether they are activities, changes to the Group's Documents or otherwise.
